The Sound of Music Festival’s kick off weekend has begun! The club series is on from June 10th to 13th and the free portion of the event runs from June 14th to 17th. The kick off weekend features artists such as Sublime with Rome, Simple Plan, The All-American Rejects, Everclear, Rainbow Butt Monkeys, Tonic, Eve 6, Not By Choice, Alan Cross, Kip Moore, Lee Brice, and Emerson Drive. The free part of the festival will have performers such as Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, Matthew Good, Natalie MacMaster, Scott Helman, Tokyo Police Club, and so many more.

The City of Burlington offers free outdoor movies for you & your family to enjoy over the summer months. You’ll need to bring your own chair or blanket to sit on, and remember to arrive early if you want to choose a prime spot. Don’t forget your snacks!

Royal Botanical Gardens is hosting their Garden Music Nights at Hendrie Park on Wednesdays from June 13th to September 5th, 2018. Check out the line up to see who is playing each week – it’s the perfect spot to spend an evening listening to jazz and blues, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Museums of Burlington at Ireland House will be having a Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on June 17th; $5 for 2 pancakes (made on the wood-stove in the historic summer kitchen) and a drink. Take your dad & enjoy some food while learning about some of Burlington’s history.

Fit in the Core offers free outdoor exercise classes on Sunday mornings from 10-11 a.m. and is held in Downtown Burlington outside Civic Square. Such a cool idea to get out and get moving and enjoying the beautiful downtown core at the same time.

The Burlington Mall Farmers Market has been running since 1959 and are celebrating their 60th year! The market runs on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a great way to get outside, maybe meet some new people, and also support local farmers and vendors.

For water enthusiasts, Burlington Beach Rentals is located on a gorgeous km of white sandy beach that runs from Spencer Smith along to the Burlington Lift Bridge. They offer various classes such as SUP (stand up paddle boarding), hula hooping, yoga, POI spinning classes, and special events such as their Full Moon Social Beach Party & GLOW Paddle.

Centro Garden on Brant in downtown Burlington has their annual Farmer’s Market on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; you can find the market located behind Centro in their parking lot off of John Street and features vendors such as Tamp Coffee Co, Saving Thyme, Foundry Ice Cream, Wandering Locavore, Kew Vineyards, Linc Farm, and more.

Concerts in the Park kicks off on Sunday, June 17th and runs all summer until mid-way through August. You can check out the Burlington Teen Tour Band and various other artists in the Central Park Bandshell on New St near the Central Library. The concerts run each Sunday from 7:30-9:00 p.m. – be sure to bring a chair or blanket to sit on while you enjoy the fresh air and music.
